2009-2010 NC Baptist Singers & Orchestra Season

On behalf of the Music & Worship Team of the Baptist State Convention, I want to personally invite you to become a member of one of the best choral and instrumental groups in the state of North Carolina ... the North Carolina Baptist Singers and Orchestra!

Our 2009-2010 theme is "Tell Me the Story of Jesus." Our concert has been designed to share the life, ministry, death, resurrection, and victorious return of Jesus Christ. We will use the old gospel hymn, "Tell Me the Story of Jesus," as a kind of narrative connector to lead us through the parts of the concert. The selected anthems are diverse, both musically and textually, and represent a broad spectrum of the world of music in the worship life of our churches. Most important, they have been selected to help us "tell the story of Jesus" and to worship the "author and perfecter of our faith" and salvation.

We place a great value on worship, connecting with God and other believers, networking, learning, and just having fun.

Lasting relationships are built among the NC Baptist Singers. Each rehearsal becomes a time of building true community, sharing praises, lifting one another up in prayer and, of course, making beautiful music together!

Membership

There are three ways to become a member of the NC Baptist Singers:
1. Either attend the retreat in September at Caraway Conference Center, in Asheboro, or
2. Attend the first rehearsal/concert.
3. New persons in Music Leadership in NC may join throughout the season.

For more information, contact Sherry Thompson at 800-395-5102, x5634, or sthompson@ncbaptist.org

The North Carolina Baptist Singers Minimize

"I love choral music. And (second to the TMBC Chancel Choir, of course!) my favorite choral group, the standard by which I judge all others, is the North Carolina Baptist Singers. The threads that run through all its music are professionalism, excellence and devotion to music as an avenue of praise to God and proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ."
-Dr. Larry Hovis, pastor of The Memorial Baptist Church, Greenville, NC
