Jason Wells founded Ring of Fire in 1997 in Hillsboro, Oregon. During the group's active 10-year adventure, they performed at 2 presidential inaugurations, multiple NBA basketball games, 3 times with the Boston pops in Symphony Hall, and many times on national and international radio and television. They have toured 28 U.S. states and taken their passionate handbell performance to 7 countries.
Jason continues to actively serve as a clinician and director at national and international handbell bell festivals and symposiums. In 2008, he represented the United States at the International Handbell symposium in Orlando, Florida. Jason is the artistic director of Distinctly Bronze, a bi-annual, national, four-day performance event featuring many of the world's top handbell performers playing the most exciting handbell compositions on multiple sets of seven-octaves of handbells and chimes.
When not sharing his passion for music, Jason spends time with his family (wife Heather, daughter Sidney [4], son Landon [1]), and serves as Vice President of Park Ridge Hospital in Hendersonville, North Carolina.
David M. Harris has been the director of The Raleigh Ringers since January 1990, when he was instrumental in the formation of the group. David studied music while earning a degree in computer science at Pennsylvania State University and has studied conducting privately with Dr. William A. Payn of Bucknell University. David was previously director of the handbell program at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church and has served the American Guild of English Handbell Ringers (AGEHR) as North Carolina State Chairman and as Area III Treasurer. He chaired the national committee that planned the very first Community / Professional Handbell Choir Event, Pinnacle 2000, which was held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
David is in increasing demand as a clinician and guest conductor and has led several national AGEHR events as well as serving as the primary handbell clinician for denominational music events such as Montreat, Lake Junaluska, and Lutheridge.
After growing up in the northeast, David moved to Raleigh with his wife, Kristina. Dave and Kris have three children: Daniel, Kate, and Jennifer.
